On Tuesday 21 January 2025, the Deputy Minister of National Defence, Giannis Kefalogiannis, attended the Command handover – takeover ceremony of the Special Warfare Command, where Lieutenant General Prokopios Mavraganis handed over the duties of Commanding General of the Command to Lieutenant General Georgios Manouras. The ceremony was held in Camp “YPOSTRATIGOU CHRISTODOULOU TSIGANTE”.
The ceremony was also attended by the Chief of Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General Dimitrios Houpis, the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, the Chief of Hellenic Navy General Staff, Vice Admiral Dimitrios-Eleftherios Kataras HN, a representative of the Chief of Hellenic Air Force General Staff, Honorary Chiefs, General and Senior Officers of the Armed and Security Forces, as well as delegations of the three Armed Forces Services and the Retired Officers and Reserve Officers Associations.
While presenting the outgoing Special Warfare Command Commanding General with memorabilia, Mr. Kefalogiannis expressed his utter gratitude for his professionalism and dedication during his service, and wished the new Commanding General every success in his crucial work.
