On Tuesday, 17 October 2023, the Deputy Minister of National Defence, Mr. Ioannis Kefalogiannis, visited the Hellenic Military Academy (Evelpidon), accompanied by the Deputy Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Andreas Koronakis, where he was welcomed by the Academy Commandant, Major General Anastasios Polychronos, and addressed the cadets and faculty.

In his address, he referred to the importance of the education provided by the Higher Military Educational Institutions. Meanwhile, he announced a full set of measures that the leadership of the Ministry of National Defence is implementing towards upgrading training policies in the Armed Forces. He also emphasised that the duty of the State, the political and military leadership of the Ministry is to support the work of the Hellenic Military Academy, as well as the other two officer academies, in every possible way, in order to fulfil their mission in the best possible way.

After the address, he toured the grounds of the Military Academy and attended a firing training activity at the Academy’s range, after which Mr. Kefalogiannis congratulated the cadets, both men and women, who participated and discussed with them.
