On Thursday, 14 July 2022, the Deputy Minister of National Defence Mr. Nikolaos Chardalias participated in a meeting organized by the Federal Ministry of Defence in Berlin on defence armaments matters, accompanied by the General Director of the GDDIA of the Ministry of National Defence, Vice Admiral Aristidis Alexopoulos HN (ret.).
Apart from the host nation, the meeting was also attended by national delegations from Greece, Austria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Sweden, and Switzerland.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the Deputy Minister of National Defence met with his German counterpart, Mr. Benedikt Zimmer, the National Armaments Director of the German Federal Ministry of Defence, Vice Admiral Carsten Stawitzki, and the Secretary General of the Italian Ministry of Defence, Lieutenant General Luciano Portolano.
Mr. Chardalias also visited the Embassy of Greece in Berlin and met with the Ambassador, Ms. Mara Marinaki. During the meeting, participants discussed the regional and international developments with regard to the Russian invasion in Ukraine.
