Deputy Minister of National Defence Nikolaos Chardalias Meets with UAE Minister of State for Defence Affairs on the Sidelines of International Defence Expo “EDEX 2021”

On Monday, 29 November 2021, the Deputy Minister of National Defence, Mr. Nikolaos Chardalias, represented Greece at the opening ceremony of the International Defence Expo “EDEX 2021”, which took place in the presence of the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt and Supreme Commander of the Egyptian Armed Forces, Mr. Abdel Fatah El Sisi.

EDEX 2021” is held under the auspices of the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt and will run until 2 December 2021. The Expo is located at the Egypt International Exhibition Centre and features organisations from 42 countries, including Greece with five defence equipment companies.

On the sidelines of the Expo, Mr. Chardalias had a bilateral meeting with the UAE Minister of State for Defence Affairs, Mr. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bowardi.

The meeting confirmed the positive atmosphere and constituted an opportunity to discuss matters of bilateral cooperation and exchange views on the developments at regional and international level. The stated objective is to maintain and enhance cooperation between the two countries in the operational and training field in order to build a stable and secure environment, both regionally and internationally, to the benefit of the peoples of Greece and the UAE. Both sides agreed that it is the path of synergy that will help manage the threats in the area and secure peace.
