On Friday, 22 October 2021, the Deputy Minister of National Defence Mr. Nikolaos Chardalias, accompanied by the Deputy Chief of Hellenic National Defence General Staff, Vice Admiral Ioannis Drymousis HN, visited the Hellenic Tactical Air Force and the Hellenic First Army/EU-OHQ in Larissa.
During the visits, the Deputy Minister of National Defence was briefed by the Major Operational Formation Commands on their organisation, mission, operational work, and challenges. He also had the opportunity to discuss with the personnel.
The Deputy Minister visited the Hellenic Tactical Air Force and Hellenic First Army Headquarters, the National Air Operations Centre, and the 1st Air Control Centre (Recognised Air Picture Production Centre – Sensor Fusion Post), the 337th Squadron, and the European Union Operational Headquarters (EU-OHQ). He was also given a tour of the recently opened Historical Exhibit Area “Air Spirit Figures” at the Hellenic Tactical Air Force.
The Deputy Minister of National Defence was welcomed by Lieutenant General (HAF) Themistoklis Bourolias, Chief of Hellenic Tactical Air Force, and Lieutenant General Petros Demestichas, Commanding General of the Hellenic First Army, respectively.
