On Tuesday 28 September 2021, the Deputy Minister of National Defence Mr. Nikolaos Chardalias, accompanied by HAGS Chief Lieutenant General Charalambos Lalousis visited the Higher Military Command of Interior and Islands “AIGEAS”, in Kareas, Attica, where he was received by Commander Lieutenant General Nikolaos Flaris.

The Deputy Minister of National Defence was briefed on the mission, the main projects and the current operational and training activities of the Higher Military Command of Interior and Islands. Additionally, in the context of the progress of Field Training Exercise “PARMENION -21”, he was briefed on the participation and deployment of the Command’s Formations in it, throughout the Greek territory, on the basis of planned or unplanned incidents.

During his visit the Deputy Minister of National Defence communicated via video call with the sergeants of the guards of the Surveillance Outposts of Farmakonisi, Stroggyli and Gavdos. Also, he talked with the commanders of the formations subordinate to the Higher and Military Command of the Interior and Islands, i.e. the commanders of local Higher National Guard Battalion Commands.
