Mr. Davakis, in his brief address, stated the following:

“It is with great emotion that I tread the ground of Roupel, representing the Prime
Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and the Armed Forces, as every Greek would do. What I see in front of my eyes, demonstrates yet again that all you, all of us and our children, are they who keep the flame of memory burning, they who maintain the unbroken line from the saying ‘Come and take it’ to this very day. It is you, who, I am certain, will cry out, that forts are not surrendered, but conquered.

May they be immortal!”
