The Deputy Minister of National Defence Thanasis Davakis, today, Friday 30 October 2026, attended the Inauguration Ceremony of the new Dormitories of the Nursing Officers Academy, at the Academy’s Grounds.
The building and furnishing of the new modern dormitories is a generous donation of the Honorary Brigadier General and President of SEALINK NAVIGATION, Nicholas Kosmatos, who exclusively paid for the renovation of the dormitories, the shared facilities, and the infrastructure of the 1st floor of the Nursing Officers Academy.
The ceremony was attended by the Chief of the Hellenic Police, Lieutenant General Dimitrios Mallios, the Commander of the Joint Command of Academic Education, Lieutenant General Anastasios Polychronos, the Commanding General of the Hellenic Army Support Command, Lieutenant General Athanasios Saplaouras, the Honorary Brigadier General and President of SEALINK NAVIGATION, Nicholas Kosmatos, the Nursing Officers Academy Commandant, Brigadier General Sofia Moschona, representatives of the Armed Forces, Security Forces, and Local Administration.
Mr. Davakis, in his address, stated, among others:
“My presence here is the fulfilment of a necessary obligation to an excellent initiative. By their generous contribution, these people are steadily contributing to reinforcing the shield and pride of the Hellenic people, which our Armed Forces are.
Mr. Kosmatos, a young patrician, with a long record of contribution, yet again demonstrates his patriotic feelings.
Completing the renovation of these dormitories is a visionary project with a significant impact. It radically alters our youths’ daily life, of those youths who chose to combine their scientific capacity with the military calling.
On behalf of the political leadership, of the Minister of National Defence Mr. Nikolaos Dendias, and on my behalf personally, as well as on behalf of the military leadership, I express my warmest congratulations, my deep appreciation, and the State’s frank gratitude for your precious contribution.”
