The Deputy Minister of National Defence Thanasis Davakis visited today, Holy Monday 6 April 2026, the 8 th Mechanised Brigade and the “MOLYVDOSKEPASTOS” Surveillance Outpost within the area of responsibility of the Supreme Military Command of Epirus and Macedonia (ASDIM), in order to exchange greetings with the personnel and soldiers ahead of the Easter holidays.
The Deputy Minister was welcomed by the Commander of ASDIM Lieutenant General Grigorios Boundliakis, the Commander of the 8 th Mechanised Brigade Brigadier General Vasileios Kolios and the Commander of the 583 Infantry Battalion Lieutenant Colonel Ioannis Foukas.
Mr. Davakis then proceeded to the Holy Monastery of Panagia Molyvdoskepastos, where he met with Metropolitan Alexios of Dryinoupolis, Pogogiani and Konitsa.
After the visit, Mr. Davakis stated:
«I visited Epirus today, ahead of the Easter holidays, to extend my best wishes to the Officers and soldiers serving on the Greek – Albanian borders.
During these Holy Days, they will spend time away from their families, fulfilling their duty to their country with self-sacrifice and a strong sense of responsibility.
