The Minister of National Defence Panos Kammenos accompanied by the Chief of HAGS Lieutenant General Alkiviadis Stefanis, attended the oath taking ceremony of first year cadets, Class of 2021 “Major Konstantinos Tzavelas”, held at the premises of Hellenic Military Academy, Vari, Attica.
The Minister of National Defence, as he had promised, awarded the sword to Cadet Vasileios Adamos, son of Colonel Thomas Adamos who lost his life on duty during a military helicopter accident, in Sarantaporo, Elassona, in April 2017.
The Minister of National Defence honoured also the family of Major Konstantinos Tzavelas, hero of the epic of 1940, after whom the Class of 2021 has been named.
