By means of Joint Ministerial Decision, signed by the Minister of National Defence Nikos Dendias and the Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni, a Joint Advisory Committee is formed for the enhancement and maintenance of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

The Joint Advisory Committee consists of:

a) Antonios Oikonomou, Secretary General of the Ministry of National Defence, as Chairman.

b) Lieutenant General Andreas Koronakis, Deputy Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, as member.

c) Konstantina Siountri, Grade A Civilian Employee, Architect – Engineer Branch of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture, Head of the Modern Monument and Technical Works Service of Attica, Eastern Central Greece, and the Cyclades, as member.

d) Maria Mertzani Grade A Civilian Employee, Conservator of Antiquities – Works of Art Branch of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture, Head of the Directorate of Conservations of Ancient and Modern Monuments, as member

e) Konstantinos Varotsos, Professor at the School of Architecture of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and artist, as member of acknowledged authority in areas connected to the mission and responsibilities of the Committee.

The tenure of the members of the Committee is six months.
