By Joint Ministerial Decision of the Minister of Health Adonis Georgiadis, the Deputy Minister of National Defence Thanasis Davakis and the Deputy Minister of National Economy & Finance Thanos Petralias, the medical expenses cost and amount paid in advance to the members of the Armed Forces, to cover necessary medical care expenses, are determined.

In particular, from now on, for a medical expense exceeding three hundred euros, the members of the Armed Forces will be paid in advance the whole of the pertinent expense, deducting the participation percentage.

The Minister of Health Adonis Georgiadis stated: “The advance payment for the coverage of the medical expense constitutes a substantial initiative for the support of the people who serve the homeland, reinforcing the sense of security and care that the State ought to provide. With this particular Ministerial Decision, we guarantee, in effect, that the members of the

Armed Forces will enjoy direct and unhindered access to the necessary health services, without delays and bureaucratic obstacles. We consistently continue to materialise policies which improve the daily lives and the quality of life of our members”.

The Deputy Minister of National Defence Thanasis Davakis stated: “Our Joint Ministerial Decision was recently issued, stipulating the advance payment of the whole medical expense to the members of the Armed Forces, deducting the participation percentage, if said expense exceeds three hundred euros. Thus, we alleviate the financial burden on our members for high healthcare expenses, we simplify the procedures and enhance the sense of security of our personnel.

This decision, which is a result of Law 5195/2025 for the upgrade of the members’ healthcare, constitutes another step that this government and this political leadership of the Ministry of National Defence are taking to upgrade the healthcare of the Armed Forces members”.
