In the framework of the social policy performed by the Ministry of National Defence, low interest building loans for Officers’ Autonomous Building Society beneficiaries (on active duty and retired) are granted.
By initiative of the Minister of National Defence Panos Panagiotopoulos a Joint Ministerial Decision was signed by the Alternate Minister of Finance Christos Staikouras and the Deputy Minister of National Defence Dimitris Elefsiniotis, which defines the terms and conditions for granting the loans.
According to the decision, the interest of loans granted by the Society is set to half (1/2) of the interest of Greek Treasury bills valid each time. This way, from 01-01-2013 the interest is automatically reduced to 1%.
At the same time, the beneficiaries are given the possibility to prolong loans amounting up to €100,000 from 15 to 20 years, after a relative request submitted by the interested party.
