The Minister of National Defence PANOS KAMMENOS met with the Mayor of Kythira Island EFSTRATIOS HARHALAKIS; the two men signed programmatic agreements between the Ministry of National Defence and the Municipality of Kythira, which regarded:
– maintenance-repair of the municipality’s road network providing access to Hellenic Navy installations and the monastery of Agia Elessa, and research on the fortification and repair of the bridge at Diakofti village
– maintenance and upgrade of access road to the island’s lighthouse “Spathi”, which will serve the needs of the Armed Forces.
In addition, the restoration of the lighthouse of Antikythira island, where Admiral Nikolaos Filosofof had served as lighthouse keeper, was also decided.
