On Wednesday, 31 October 2018, the Deputy Minister of National Defence Maria Kollia-Tsaroucha, visited the Archbishopric of Athens and had a meeting with his Beatitude Ieronymos ΙΙ, Archbishop of Athens and All Greece and Head of the Holy Synod of the Hierarchy of the Church of Greece.
The Deputy Minister of National Defence Maria Kollia-Tsaroucha stated:
“Orthodoxy, through its historical role and the social and spiritual contribution of the Orthodox Church, is one of the main pillars of the Greek society, as well as the Armed Forces, which I have the honour to command. Their admirable and creative cooperation is instrumental in safeguarding the national identity and keeping traditions alive”.
