The Deputy Minister of National Defence Alkiviadis Stefanis, in the context of his jurisdiction as the National Coordinator for the management of the Migration Issue in our country, called a meeting, today, Thursday 29 July 2021, during which an appraisal of the current situation was conducted.
During the presentation, the effectiveness, the immediate readiness and the high operational level of the operating bodies based on the securing of the national and European borders were ascertained.
The Deputy Minister of National Defence stressed the significance of maintaining the exceptional inter-ministerial and inter-service cooperation, while he characteristically mentioned: “We are strong and proud to be guarding our borders. We soldier on vigorously, with the same intensity”.
Other participants in the meeting were the Chief of HNDGS General Konstantinos Floros, the General Secretary of the Ministry of Migration and Asylum Mr Patroklos Georgiadis, the B΄ Deputy Chief of Port Authority – Hellenic Coastguard Vice Admiral Georgios Alexandrakis, the Head of the Aliens and Border Protection Branch of the Hellenic Police, Police Major General Dimitrios Mallios, the A’ Deputy Commander of the National Intelligence Service Mr Vasilios Grizis, the Alternate Director of C4/Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Embassy B’ Counsellor Ms Persephoni Karanika and the Legal Advisor of the Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Ms Maira Myrogianni.
