Message by the Deputy Minister of National Defence Maria Kollia-Tsaroucha for the Feast of the Patron Saint of the Hellenic Air Force

November 8, 2018

Today, we honour the Heavenly Defenders and Taxiarchs of Orthodoxy, we honour the Great General of the Heavenly Hosts, Archangel Michael, the Patron Saint of the Hellenic Air Force.

We honour the aircraft pilots and the members of the Hellenic Air Force, the guardian angels who protect the Thermopylae in the sky with selflessness, skill, courage, and strength, offering valuable services to the Country and the Nation.

We honour all members of the Hellenic Air Force who operate the weapon systems, the radars, and the ground services.

Through their constant contribution and ethos, the Greek aviators are the children, the brothers and sisters, and protectors of every Greek family. Every Greek man and woman is proud of our Air Force, as well as of the work and contribution of all the Hellenic Armed Forces.

We honour all those who fell in action and earned a place in the pantheon of our heroes of the Hellenic Air Force and the struggles of the Hellenic Nation.

Happy holiday to all members of the Hellenic Air Force, with safety and good health.

May the Holy Theotokos and all the Angels protect your wings, to always fly high and wherever needed, for the Country, the Orthodox faith, and Hellenism.

We are by your side!

The Deputy Minister of National Defence

Maria Kollia-Tsarouha
