Minister of National Defence Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos Attends Joint Exercise “MEDUSA 10” in Alexandria

The Minister of National Defence, Mr. Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos, accompanied by the Chief of Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General Konstantinos Floros, attended the final phase of the Greece – Egypt joint exercise “MEDUSA 10”, which also included forces from Cyprus, France, and the United Arab Emirates.

 

The exercise was also attended by the Minister of Defence of Egypt, General Mohamed Zaki, and the Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Mohamed Farid Hegazy.

 

Upon conclusion of the exercise, which included Navy – Special Forces cooperation operations and amphibious actions, air operations, and attack helicopter operations, the Minister of National Defence stated the following:

 

Today, I had the opportunity to attend from the deck of an Egyptian Navy helicopter carrier, together with the Chief of Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General Konstantinos Floros, the final phase of the great aeronautical exercise ‘MEDUSA 10’.

 

It is a large-scale exercise which during the past few years has been enhanced and expanded. This year, in addition to the Armed Forces of Egypt, Greece, and Cyprus, the exercise also includes troops from the Armed Forces of France and the United Arab Emirates.
