The Minister of National Defence Mr. Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos attended the oath-taking ceremony of the new Hellenic Navy Ensigns, held today July 2 2020, at the facilities of the Hellenic Naval Academy in Piraeus, in the presence of the President of the Hellenic Republic Mrs. Katerina Sakellaropoulou who presented the swords to the new Officers of the Hellenic Navy.
The ceremony was also attended by the Deputy Minister of National Defence Mr. Alkiviadis Stefanis, the HNDGS Chief General Konstantinos Floros, the HAFGS Lieutenant General (AF) Georgios Blioumis, HAGS Chief Lieutenant General Charalambos Lalousis and HNGS Chief Vice-Admiral Stylianos Petrakis, while this Eminence Metropolitan of Piraeus Mr. Seraphim officiated the ceremony.
The oath-taking ceremony of the new Ensigns was also attended by representatives of the Hellenic Parliament, the Regional and Local Administration, the Piraeus Chambers and local institutions.
