The Minister of National Defence Panos Kammenos  accompanied by the HNDGS Chief Admiral Evangelos Apostolakis and the HAGS Chief Lt General Alkiviadis Stefanis visited the islands of Donousa and Amorgos.
 
In Donousa the Minister inaugurated the Primary School constructed by the Armed Forces, making good on the promise given to the local authorities during his last visit to the island.  

Then he visited Amorgos where he met with the Mayor N.Fostieris and the local authorities.

In Donousa, the Minister of National Defence made the following statement:  

“ The Armed Forces are not just for war, we are ready for war so that we can ensure peace. However, it is not just the Armed Forces which work for the benefit of the Nation, you inhabitants of the islanders, especially the smaller islands, also work very hard, although they do not enjoy the amenities of the city. Your presence on the island, the birth of your children here, is a message that the Aegean, our islands which have been inhabited for thousands of years,  shall never be abandoned. This is our country, because your presence makes Greece even greater. We are here to convey a message for  the social contribution of the Armed Forces , but mainly the national work you all execute.

The greater we are in number,  the more they fear  us, because we are defending our country, our homes, our families and our history. We are not threatening anyone, but , that said, we are not willing to give anything to anyone”.
