On Wednesday 21 June 2023, the Minister of National Defence, Mr. Alkiviadis Stefanis, and the Minister for Citizen Protection, Mr. Charalambos Lalousis, signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of National Defence and the Center for Security Studies (KEMEA) in order to achieve synergies in the field of Research, Development, and Innovation.
The objective of this action is the achievement of maximum effectiveness and the enhancement of operational capability, through joint actions. The Ministry of National Defence and KEMEA are willing to cooperate in fields such as security of land and sea borders, the protection of critical infrastrucutures, the use and improvement of structures and services, as well as other fields of mutual operational interest.
In a short address, the Minister of National Defence pointed out the following:
“Our common goal is the protection of our Country’s interests and borders. With the Memorandum signed today, the work and cooperation between the two sides is sealed”.
The Minister for Citizen Protection pointed out the following:
“The joint action in fields of common interest will contribute to the production of innovative ideas and the establishment of threat countering procedures of today”.
