Today, Wednesday 8 July 2026, the Minister of National Defence, Nikos Dendias, accompanied the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, at the NATO Summit in Ankara.
Within the framework of the Summit, Mr. Dendias met with the Minister of National Defence of Canada, David McGuinty.
The two Ministers discussed the further enhancement of the defence cooperation between Greece and Canada, focusing on defence innovation and industry, through cooperation between the respective defence ecosystems.
They also exchanged views on regional and international defence and security matters, as well as on natural disaster response.
During the meeting, Mr. Dendias accepted the invitation extended by David McGuinty to visit Canada, a visit that is expected to take place in the near future.
The Minister of National Defence also met with the Defence Attaché of the Hellenic Embassy in Ankara, Colonel Georgios Bellos, and his staff.
