On Thursday, 19 September 2024, the Minister of National Defence, Nikos Dendias, accompanied by the Chief of Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General Dimitrios Choupis, and the Chief of Hellenic Navy General Staff, Vice Admiral Dimitrios – Eleftherios Kataras HN, will go to France for the launch ceremony of FDI HN Frigate “NEARCHOS”.

Mr. Dendias will arrive at Lann-Bihoué Air Base for the official welcome ceremony (11:40 local time).

Then, the Minister of National Defence will go to the Hellenic Navy Naval Echelon in Lorient, where he will be briefed by the Commander on the FDI HN Frigate construction programme (12:40 local time).

Subsequently, Mr. Dendias will attend the launch of Frigate “NEARCHOS” (14:45 local time), which will take place at the NAVAL facilities in Lorient.

Finally, the Minister of National Defence will inspect the works on Frigate “KIMON” (16:00 local time).
