Minister of National Defence N. Dendias’ visit to the US

The Minister of National Defence, Nikos Dendias, concluded his visit to the US today, Wednesday 17 June 2026.

During his visit, Mr. Dendias met with executives from research institutions and US companies that are at the forefront internationally in the fields of Innovation and New Technologies in the Defence Sector.

The Minister of National Defence was briefed in detail on the latest developments in defence technology and, in particular, on the capabilities offered by new-generation autonomous unmanned systems, technological advances in Robotics and Cybersecurity, as well as the capabilities of high-power microwave systems.

He also had the opportunity to learn about advanced defence systems that enhance accuracy and speed up decision-making on the field.

In Austin, Mr. Dendias also visited the facilities of the company that built the US Navy’s unmanned surface vessel, which a few days ago rescued the crew of the Apache helicopter that crashed in the Persian Gulf.

The Minister was accompanied on his visits by the Director of HAGS Staff 6th Directorate Major General Georgios Panousis, the Consul General of Greece in Los Angeles Christina Valassopoulou, and the Consul General of Greece in Houston Lambros Kakisis.
