On Thursday 24 June 2021 the swearing-in ceremony of the new Ensigns of 2021 class was held at the facilities of the Hellenic Naval Academy in Piraeus, in the presence of Her Excellence the President of the Hellenic Republic Mrs. Katerina Sakellaropoulou.
The ceremony was attended by B’ Vice-President of the Hellenic Parliament Mr. Charalambos Athanasiou, the Minister of National Defence Mr. Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos, the Deputy Minister of National Defence Mr. Alkiviadis Stefanis, HNDGS Chief General Konstantinos Floros, HAFGS Chief Lieutenant General (AF) Georgios Blioumis, HAGS Chief Lieutenant General Charalambos Lalousis, HNGS Chief Vice-Admiral Stylianos Petrakis. The ceremony was officiated by his Eminence Metropolitan of Piraeus Serapheim.
43 Ensigns of 2021 Class graduated from the Hellenic Naval Academy (30 Deck Officers and 13 Engineers). Out of the 43 graduates, 31 were Greek (28 men and 3 women), 9 from Cyprus (7 men, 2 women), two from Jordan and one from Montenegro.
The swords were presented to the new Officers by Her Excellence the President of the Hellenic Republic.
