On Tuesday, 05 April 2022, the Minister of National Defence Mr. Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos met with a delegation of the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA) visiting Greece.
The reception ceremony, which took place at the “Ioannis Kapodistrias” Conference Hall of the Ministry of National Defence was attended by the the Chief of Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General Konstantinos Floros, the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Charalampos Lalousis, the Chief of Hellenic Navy General Staff, Vice Admiral Stylianos Petrakis HN, the Deputy Chief of Hellenic Air Force General Staff, Major General (HAF) Dimosthenis Grigoriadis, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Secretary General for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy, Mr. Ioannis Chrysoulakis.
In his address to the Supreme President of AHEPA, Mr. Jimmy Kokotas, and the other members of the delegation, Mr. Panagiotopoulos referred to the special bond with AHEPA – which celebrates this year 100 years since its foundation – which works for and communicates in all directions arguments and national positions of our country. He noted that Greece is a reliable partner and ally, particularly to the United States, with whom it has developed a strategic relationship based on historical values.
The Minister of National Defence presented the strategy implemented in order to consolidate a climate of peace, security, and stability, on one hand, through the conclusion of strategic agreements (e.g. with the United States and France) its participation in multilateral schemes, as well as, on the other hand, with its effort to further enhance the deterrent power of the Armed Forces based on a well-designed and organised plan that is already in its implementation phase.
