On Wednesday 17 January 2024, the Minister of National Defence, Nikos Dendias, attended the Chief of Hellenic Air Force General Staff change of responsibility ceremony that took place at the Hellenic Air Force Academy, with Lieutenant General (HAF) Dimosthenis Grigoriadis assuming responsibility from General (HAF) Themistoklis Bourolias.

The ceremony was also attended by:

– The Vice President of the Hellenic Parliament, Ioannis Plakiotakis, as representative of the President of the Parliament.

– The Deputy Minister of National Defence, Ioannis Kefalogiannis.

– MPs Christos Kellas and Georgios Kotsos.

– The Deputy Head of the Region of Western Greece, Fokion Zaimis.

– The Deputy Mayor of Paleo Faliro, Ioannis Fostiropoulos.

– His Eminence, the Metropolitan of Larissa and Tyrnavos, Mr. Ieronymos.

On behalf of the military leadership, the ceremony was attended by the Chief of Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General Dimitrios Choupis, the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, the Chief of Hellenic Navy General Staff, Vice Admiral Dimitrios-Eleftherios Kataras HN, as well as General Officers of the Armed Forces and representatives of all three services.

Additionally, the ceremony was attended by Police Major General Christos Manouras, as representative of the Chief of the Hellenic Police, the Deputy Chief of the Hellenic Coast Guard, Vice Admiral Aristidis Pantazoglou CG, as representative of the Chief of the Hellenic Coast Guard, the Commandant of the Hellenic Fire Service Academy, Fire Service Major General Dimitrios Kalaniotis, as representative of the Chief of the Fire Service, as well as General Directors and Representatives of the Ministry of National Defence.

Lastly, the ceremony was also attended by Honorary Chiefs of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Defence and Air Attachés, representatives of Retired Officers Associations, and more.
