The Minister of National Defence Nikos Dendias convened on Sunday 1st March 2026, an emergency meeting at the Council of Chiefs of General Staffs room, in order to assess the latest developments in the broader Middle East. It was stressed that all prescribed protocols have been put into effect and that all the necessary security measures provided for have been taken.
The meeting was attended by the Chief HNDGS General Dimitrios Choupis, the Chief HAGS Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, the Chief HNGS Vice Admiral Dimitrios – Eleftherios Kataras, the Chief HAFGS Lieutenant General Dimosthenis Grigoriadis, the Director of HNDGS 5th Staff Directorate for Information Major General Emmanouil Chatzis, senior officers and the Defence Ministry’s Diplomatic Advisor Ambassador Georgios Arnaoutis.
Mr. Dendias is also maintaining an open line of communication with his counterparts in allied countries.
