Minister of National Defence Nikos Dendias Visits USA

Minister of National Defence Nikos Dendias will travel to the USA, where he will meet members of the academic community and of the Greek Diaspora in Boston, (Friday 12, 2024) and will attend the commemorative celebrations for the anniversary of the National Celebration of 25 March 1821, in New York (Saturday 13 April and Sunday 14 April 2024) as a guest of the Federation of Hellenic Societies of Greater New York. 

Specifically, on Friday, 12 April, 2024 the Minister will have a series of meetings with members of the Diaspora, and also distinguished scientists from elite US universities.

In particular, the Minister will visit:

– The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he will meet specialists in the fields of Technology and Shipbuilding, in the wake of the “2030 Agenda” in the Hellenic Armed Forces.

– The Harvard Kennedy School, where he will give a speech on the topic of geopolitical developments in the Eastern Mediterranean and the role of Greece.

– The Fletcher School of International Relations at Tufts University, where he will meet the Leadership of the Faculty, and the Head of the Constantine Karamanlis Chair, Fotini Pazartzi. 

Furthermore, during his stay in Boston, at 20:15 (local time), the Minister will attend a dinner with the Metropolitan of Boston Mr. Methodios, and representatives of the Greek Diaspora.  

On Saturday, 13 April 2024, Nikos Dendias will travel to New York, where, at 19:00 (local time) he will participate in the celebration of the Diaspora community for the National Anniversary of the 25th of March.  

On Sunday, 14 April 2024, at 10:30 (local time), the Minister of National Defence will attend the celebratory doxology at Holy Trinity Cathedral, where the Archbishop of America, Mr Elpidophoros , will officiate. 

Subsequently, at 13:30 (local time), Mr Dendias, as a guest of the Federation of Hellenic Societies of Greater New York, in the Capacity of honorary Master of Ceremonies, will attend the grand parade celebrating the National Rebirth of 1821, which will take place on 5th Avenue.
