Ministry of National Defence Participates in the Pan-hellenic Conference on Occupational Health and Safety

The participation of the Ministry of National Defence in the 2nd Occupational Health and Safety Conference was completed; the conference was held on 18 and 19 November 2019, at the Athens Concert Hall.

The conference was attended by almost all related Public agencies, as well as big enterprises of the private sector, engaged in every financial activity, and it was organized by the Hellenic Institute of Occupational Health and Safety, under the auspices of the President of the Hellenic Republic, Mr. Prokopios Pavlopoulos.

The aim of the conference was to present radical changes which have been shaped with regard to occupation and the society, both in our country and worldwide, through the emergence of new technologies, like digitalization, nanotechnology, bio-technology and the extensive use of the internet.

The Ministry of National Defence participated in the conference with two presentations. The first was presented by the Section Chief of the Health and Safety Department, Lieutenant Colonel (Aircraft Engineer) Panagiotis Sotiriadis, under the title: “The effectiveness of the function of the Health and Safety institution in the Ministry of National Defence”. The second was an e-poster and referred to the “Implementation of wide scale field researches regarding health and safety in the Ministry of National Defence”.

The conference was also attended by 12 members of the General Directorate of Financial Planning and Support (GDFPS) of the Ministry of National Defence and of the Health and Safety agencies of all four General Staffs.
