On Thursday 07 March 2024, the Secretary General of the Ministry of National Defence Mr. Antonios Ikonomou, representing the Hellenic Government, attended the events for the 76th Anniversary of the Accession of the Dodecanese.
Mr. Ikonomou attended the official Doxology that took place at the Church of the Transfiguration of the Redeemer. Next, he visited the Fallen Memorial at the Kalymnos docks, where the panegyric was delivered, followed by a memorial service and a wreath laying. After that, he attended the parade of civilian authorities and military forces, as well as schools.
The events were also attended by MP for Dodecanese Mr. Manos Konsolas, representing the Parliament, the Mayor of Kalymnos Mr. Ioannis Mastrokoukos, the Governor of the Regional Unit of Kalymnos Mr. Emmanouil Mousellis, the Commander of 5/42 Evzones Regiment, Colonel (Inf) Dimitrios Gogoulas, the Commander of the Kalymnos Police Station, Police Major Evangelos Karathanos, the Assistant Harbormaster of Kalymnos, Lieutenant (Coast Guard) Georgios Galouzis, and other members of the Armed and Secuity Forces.
Representatives of Parties, regional and municipal councillors, representatives of Reservist Unions, and local authorities also attended.
