The Deputy Minister of National Defence, Mr. Nikolaos Chardalias, will pay an official visit to the Republic of Korea (Seoul) from Sunday, 4 September, to Wednesday, 7 September 2022, following an invitation from his South Korean counterpart, Mr. Shin Beom Chul, to attend the “Seoul Defense Dialogue 2022”.
Within the framework of his visit to Seoul, the Deputy Minister of National Defence, will also:
– have bilateral meetings with the Minister of National Defence, Mr. Lee Jong-sup, the Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, Mr. Park Min-shik, the Head of the Defense Acquisition Program Administration, Mr. Eom Dong-hwan, and the Deputy Minister of National Defence of the Republic of Korea, Mr. Shin Beom Chul, as well as his counterparts from other countries.
– sign with the Head of the Defense Acquisition Program Administration, Mr. Eom Dong-hwan, a Memorandum of Understanding between the Defense Acquisition Program Administration of the Republic of Korea and the Hellenic Ministry of National Defence on Defence Industry and Logistical Cooperation.
– meet with his Eminence, the Metropolitan of Korea & Exarch of Japan, Mr. Ambrosios, at the seat of the Metropolis in the Saint Nicholas Cathedral.
– visit the new Greek War Memorial in honour of the Greek fallen during the Korean War, following its relocation to a new, more suitable position, as well as the War Memorial of Korea, where he will lay a wreath at the commemorative stele dedicated to the participation of the Hellenic Expeditionary Force in the Korean War and our 196 dead.
