The Ministry of National Defence, within the framework of the development of its real estate for the large-scale Housing Programme of the Armed Forces, which has been announced by the Minister of National Defence Nikos Dendias and is in full progress, has reclaimed ownership of two properties of Camp “Karaiskaki” in Attica.
In particular, by means of Joint Ministerial Decisions signed by the Minister of National Economy and Finance Kyriakos Pierrakakis and the Deputy Minister of National Defence Thanasis Davakis, ownership of two properties totalling 114,363 m2 returns to the National Defence Fund. These properties had been granted to local government 34 and 19 years ago, respectively, however the terms of this grant were never fulfilled.
For the Ministry of National Defence, the rationalisation of the management of the Armed Forces’ real estate is a great challenge; the goal is to achieve the best possible results with regard to the Housing Programme, which is the main pillar of the set of measures for the Military Family.
