The Minister of National Defence Panos Kammenos in the context of the 53rd Security Conference in Munich participated in a round table discussion on European Defence and Euro-Atlantic relations. The Minister, highlighted among other things, the necessity to monitor the South-Eastern Europe sea area, where oil, weapons and drugs are illegally trafficked by terrorist organizations.
Also, he stressed that in order to deal with terrorism in a more effective way, a biometrics system should be applied and he underlined the need of cooperation among NATO and EU Intelligence Services on terrorism issues.
Finally, the Minister of National Defence attended an event organized by the Bavarian Prime-Minsiter Horst Seehofer in hounor of the delegations participating in the Security Conference.
