Today the Minister of National Defence Mr. Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos had a phone call communication with the Alternate Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of Israel Mr. Benjamin Gantz, with whom he discussed the situation and the security and stability challenges in the Eastern Mediterranean caused by the unlawful and destabilizing actions of Turkey in areas within the Greek continental shelf.

They underlined the full support and solidarity demonstrated by Israel to Greece, the Greek sovereign rights, the sea zones and the right to delimit an EEZ, as expressed loud and clear in the recent statement by the Israeli government.

The two ministers also talked about further enhancing the bilateral defence and defence-technical cooperation and the cooperation between their defence industries, following the meeting of the Minister of the National Defence with his Israeli counterpart, in the context of the visit of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis to Israel in June.
