Publications claiming that the Minister of National Defence Panos Kammenos uses a helicopter to go to the Ministry of National Defence are false, defamatory and only aim at hurling mud.
The helipad at the Ministry of National Defence has not been used since November 2004.
The Minister of National Defence, on October 14, 2015 – accompanied by the Chief of HNDGS Admiral Evangelos Apostolakis, the Chief of HNGS Vice Admiral Georgios Giakoumakis HN and the Commander in Chief of the Hellenic Fleet Rear Admiral Konstantinos Karageorgis HN – visited by helicopter the Frigate “Spetsai” which sailed in the middle of the Aegean Sea, for training shootings performed by the Hellenic Navy.
