Unfortunately, although Mr. Davakis states that he respects the Ministry of National Defence, in his effort to question the applied policy as opposition he tries, in the end, to stop the payment of the subsistence allowance to the military personnel serving at the borders by interfering in technical matters.
It seems, however, that Mr. Davakis feels remorse because, during his tenure as Deputy Minister of National Defence in the coalition government of New Democracy-PASOK, over the years 2013-2014 the subsistence allowance paid to personnel that serves at the borderline corresponded to only 3,5 months whereas – despite the lower budget – in 2015 eight months were paid and in 2016 the allowance will be paid regularly.
