A study for the reorganization of the Armed Forces is underway and as a part of it, the rationalization of the operation of army camps all over the country is being considered.
As far as Kalamata is concerned, according to the planning for the operation of the camp so far, the staff percentage will be reduced to the minimum required to serve the needs of security. The Air Base of the Hellenic Air Force in Kalamata will be enhanced through its transformation to an International Air Training Centre.
