The Minister of National Defence Mr. Dimitris Avramopoulos was briefed today by the Secretary General of the Financial and Economic Crime Unit (SDOE) Mr. I. Diotis, on an incident of a questionable fuel transfer by a private road tanker via a military camp of Rhodes.
Mr. Avramopoulos immediately gave directives to the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff General M. Kostarakos, who ordered the conduct of a Sworn Administrative Enquiry in the matter of this incident, together with the action taken by SDOE and the Economic Prosecutor.
The Second Deputy Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff Lieutenant General A. Koutroumbelis is also visiting Rhodes, so as to coordinate the research.
