The Directorate of Press and Public Information of the Ministry of National Defence issued the following Press Release:
“With regard to publications and recent releases by political parties referring to the relations between the Ministry of National Defence and the Troika, it is clarified that the Minister of National Defence Mr. Panos Panagiotopoulos never met with the Troika or with any other group of foreign experts assisting its task.
On matters of budget and expense cuts, the Ministry of National Defence cooperates with the Ministry of Finance and the State General Accounting Office of Greece and sends pertinent service agents to the Ministry of Finance and the State General Accounting Office of Greece whenever asked, so that they participate to the committees formed and operating there by decision of the Ministry’s of Finance political leadership”.
