Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, accompanied by Deputy Minister of National Defence Thanasis Davakis, visited on Saturday 14 March 2026 the 337 Squadron of the 100 Combat Wing and the National Air Operations Center (EKAE) in Larissa. There, they were greeted by Chief HNDGS General Dimitrios Choupis, Chief HAFGS Lieutenant General Dimosthenis Grigoriadis, and Chief HTAF Lieutenant General Panagiotis Georgakopoulos.
The Prime Minister was briefed by the Commander of the 110 Combat Wing Brigadier General Panagiotis Papamavroudis on the Wing’s organization, mission, and operations. Then, the EKAE Commander Brigadier General Theofanis Stafidas briefed the Prime Minister on the Center’s mission and operation, as well as the overall operational picture and the activities monitored and coordinated as part of the oversight and management of air operations, while the Commander of the 337 Squadron Lieutenant Colonel Loukas Theocharopoulos briefed them on the Squadron’s mission, the high level of effectiveness and readiness of the personnel, and the current operational and training activities.
The Prime Minister and the Deputy Minister of National Defence spoke with pilots, technicians and administrative staff of the Squadron, and visited the Squadron’s aircraft maintenance hangar.
