On Tuesday, 12 June, 2018, the signing ceremony of the cooperation framework between the Ministry of National Defence and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens will be held at the Ministry of National Defence, in “Ioannis Kapodistrias” Hall, at 12:00 (arrival no later than 11:45),

The cooperation agreement will be signed by the Alternate Minister of National Defence Fotis Kouvelis representing the Ministry of National Defence, and the Rector of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens Athanasios Dimopoulos.

The ceremony will be attended by the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, the Chiefs of the three General Staffs, the Rector and members of the Senate of Athens University.

It will also be attended by competent staff officers responsible for training and education matters, deans and professors of the three Military Academies.

This framework arranges subjects pertinent to the cooperation of the Ministry of National Defence and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in a number of fields and activities and it has been achieved through the work and study of personnel of the Ministry of National Defence and of Athens University. The interest of this cooperation is focused on the Greek society and its needs, on promoting science and on amplifying its fields.  

The implementation and cooperation fields set out are Education, Research and Research Infrastructure, as well as a number of Other Activities and Services, such as the establishment of joint advisory committees, the digitalization of museums and cultural sites, the cooperation in the field of Health, joint publications etc.

This agreement is the capstone of a long and productive cooperation between the Ministry of National Defence and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
