Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Mental Health between the Ministry of National Defence and the Ministry of Health

The Deputy Minister of National Defence Alkiviadis Stefanis and the Deputy Minister of Health on issues of mental health Ms Zoi Rapti, signed a Memorandum of Understanding – MoU regarding issues of common interest in the field of mental health, on Wednesday 7 April 2021, in the Ministry of National Defence.

The excellent inter-ministerial cooperation is ascertained, expanding further to the fields of prevention, therapy, rehabilitation and provision of required training, in order to maintain a high percentage of good mental health, through the required psychological support to the personnel of the Armed Forces and their families.

The new cooperation aims to the early diagnosis and intervention on the emergence of psychotic disorders, as well as the further education of specialists in mental health and of the personnel of the Armed Forces Nurseries regarding autism, through a pilot programme.
