Following a unanimous decision of the Joint Chiefs of General Staff Council, upon recommendation of the Minister of National Defence Panos Kammenos, the Defence Attaché of the United States of America to Greece Captain Robert Palm was presented with the Star for Valor and Honour for his “outstanding action, service and acts which resulted to the benefit of the Hellenic Armed Forces, enhanced the level of cooperation with the forces of the United States of America and contributed to the further reinforcement of the two countries’ relations”.

The Minister of National Defence thanked Captain Robert Palm for the outstanding cooperation during his tenure in the Embassy of the USA and wished his successor Captain Timothy Ketter the best of luck in his new office.

The award ceremony was attended by the Chief of Hellenic National Defence General Staff Admiral Evangelos Apostolakis, the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff Lieutenant General Alkiviadis Stefanis, the Chief of Hellenic Navy General Staff Vice Admiral Nikolaos Tsounis, the Chief of Hellenic Air Force General Staff Lieutenant General Christos Christodoulou and the Ambassador of the United States of America to Greece Geoffrey R. Pyatt.
