The Minister of National Defence Mr Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos, prompted by the joint statement made by the heads of sector for National Defence of SYRIZA-PROGRESSIVE ALLIANCE Mr Thodoris Dritsas and Giorgos Tsipras and by the head of sector for Foreign Affairs Mr Giorgos Katrougalos regarding the dispatch of defence materiel to Ukraine, proceeded to make the following statement:
“Greece, like all the other European countries, assists Ukraine with defence materiel, so as to defend itself against the attack launched by Russia. This defence materiel is granted from the country’s available stock and it doesn’t weaken its defensive capabilities in the least. Greece cannot be the exemption while the other EU member-states proceed to comparable actions”.
