The New Year’s Carols were sung to the Minister of National Defence Mr. Panos Panagiotopoulos at the Ministry of National Defence, by the Cultural-Musical Group of Kastellorizo Island, the joint band of the Armed Forces and the band of the Armour Training Centre.

The event was also attended by the Deputy Ministers of National Defence Mr. Panaghiotis Karambelas and Mr. Dimitrios Elefsiniotis, the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff General Michail Kostarakos, the Chief of the Hellenic Air Force Lieutenant General (AF) Antonios Tsantirakis, the Chief of the Hellenic Navy General Staff, Vice Admiral Kosmas Christidis and the Chief of the Hellenic Army Lieutenant General Konstantinos Gkinis.

Mr. Panagiotopoulos made the following statement:

“Many wishes and a Happy New Year; Happy 2013 from the Armed Forces and the Ministry of National Defence to all Greeks, men and women.

We have one wish: to be safe, healthy and strong for the New Year. May it be a year of optimism, the year when the smile will finally return to our lips.

I wish you all health, strength and Merry Holidays”.
