“Today is a double celebration; it is the Feast of the Holy Virgin, patron saint of the Armed Forces, and the Day of our Armed Forces. I wish, on behalf of all Greek people, to congratulate our officers, NCOs, conscripts, national guards, reservists, retired officers and the families of Armed Forces personnel, who make us all proud and contribute to the national sovereignty and the territorial integrity of the country and serve the community in peace time.
Whenever required, the Armed Forces are present and will be present with their high morale, professionalism and readiness. We are indebted to them for many things and the State is even more indebted to them. We hope that we will have the opportunity to reciprocate what we owe them. Happy Armed Forces’ Day!”
