Telephone Communication Between Defence Minister Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos and Defence Minister of Israel Benjamin Gantz

The Minister of National Defence Mr. Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos and the Minister of Defence and Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Benjamin Gantz had today, Friday 21 October 2022, a telephone communication, during which the high level of bilateral relations between the two countries was ascertained, and the mutual desire from Greece and Israel to proceed together to the enhancement and deepening of their defence cooperation, and to act as pillars of stability and security in the region of the East Mediterranean, in the context of International Law, was demonstrated.

In addition, Mr. Panagiotopoulos and Mr. Gantz highlighted the importance of the implementation project of the International Flight Training Centre in Kalamata, as it reinforces the Greek-Israeli
strategic relation, which is developing in several fields over the past years.

Besides, today a briefing took place at the 120 Air Training Wing regarding the progress in implementing the International Flight Training Centre.

The International Flight Training Centre in Kalamata will upgrade the flight instruction of the Hellenic Air Force’s pilots. Modern flying means, new flight simulation and aircraft maintenance installations guarantee our pilots’ high-level basic, advanced and operational training.

The high quality of the training provided is the guarantee for its upgrade to an International Centre expected to become attractive for other Air Forces as well, for the training of their pilots.
