The BoD of the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV) unanimously accepts a proposal by the Minister of National Defence Nikos Dendias to ensure daily wages are paid to Reservists during annual training periods

By a letter to the Minister of National Defence, Nikos Dendias, the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV) notified that it unanimously accepted a proposal by the Minister to ensure daily wages are paid to Reservists during annual training periods, in the context of the proposed Active Reserve system.

This letter, signed by the Chairman of the SEV Board of Directors Spyros Theodoropoulos, follows the June 26 meeting between the Minister and the SEV Management at the Athens Armed Forces Officers’ Club.

During the meeting, in the presence of the Chief HNDGS General Dimitrios Choupis and the Chief HAGS Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, Mr. Dendias informed of the key reforms being sought by the Active Reserve system and expressed his expectation that SEV shall support actively this national effort. He also stressed the need for the businesses of our country to contribute significantly to the success of the Active Reserve system, thus proving that Defence is a matter of collective responsibility.

The Minister of National Defence will continue to meet with other business entities and employers, aiming at their practical support to the Active Reserve system.
