The Deputy Minister of National Defence Thanasis Davakis attends the International Exhibition DEFEA 2025

On Thursday 8 May 2025, the Deputy Minister of National Defence Thanasis Davakis attended the International Exhibition of Defence, Security and Technology “DEFEA 2025” (Defence Exhibition Athens) that takes place at the Metropolitan Expo exhibition centre.

During the exhibition he had bilateral meetings and contacts with the following counterparts: the Deputy Minister of Defence of the Philippines Gavin D. Edjawan, the Deputy General Director of the Ministry of Defence of Cyprus Anna Aristotelous, the Deputy Minister of Defence of Bulgaria Radostin Iliev, the Deputy Minister of Defence of Italy Senator Isabella Rauti, the Deputy Minister of Defence of the United Kingdom The Rt Hon. Maria Eagle MP and the Deputy Minister of Defence of Slovakia Vojtasovic Martin.

In the context of the meetings, which took place in a cordial climate, ways of widening the defence relations of the countries were explored, whereas views were exchanged on the current international developments.

Upon conclusion of the meetings, the Deputy Minister of National Defence visited the pavilions of the Ministry of National Defence, the National Defence General Staff, the General Directorate of Defence Armaments and Investments and the Hellenic Centre for Defence Innovation, as well as the pavilions of Greek and foreign exhibitors.

Regarding “DEFEA 2025”, Mr Davakis delivered the following statement:

The International Exhibition of Defence, Security and Technology (DEFEA) is now an institution of undisputable prestige, an international hub of technological excellence, projecting the important role of innovation in the reinforcement of the defence, deterrence and security.

In a world of rapid developments, this exhibition functions as a bridge among the Greek and the international defence industry, the Armed Forces and the academic and research community, projecting the importance of the developmental perspective of the defence field”.
